Building the right things, the right way

Through regular roadmap meetings and close work with the Product Manager and Product Owner, I kept feature delivery on track without dangerous compromises or unrealistic timelines. I've been involved in build-versus-buy decisions and in the packaging strategy for functionality across the SaaS platform, and I've reported directly to the CEO and to the CTO at different times, preparing updates and board material that explained the roadmap and technical direction in plain terms.

  • The business heard about technical work in terms of outcomes, not jargon.
  • Commitments were realistic, so the roadmap could be trusted.
  • Product and engineering made trade-offs together rather than handing work over a wall.
